BAILEY SWILLEY’S GIMME A SIGN! MAKES ITS UNITED SOLO® DEBUT
A storytelling comedy show about family, grief and ghosts
New York City-based writer and performer Bailey Swilley brings her one-hour GIMME A SIGN! to the UNITED SOLO® Fall 2024 Festival at Theatre Row for one night only on Wednesday, October 23 at 7PM.
GIMME A SIGN! is an autobiographical comedy written and performed by Swilley, based on the aftermath of her father’s unexpected passing and the strange but funny antics that ensued after. The solo show combines standup and storytelling and explores family dynamics, the stages of grief and the search for signs from above. Come for the ghost tour with anecdotes about haunted tampons and annoying boyfriends, stay for the life lessons on self-acceptance and growing up.
Most recently, Swilley performed GIMME A SIGN! at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where audience members called it “a powerful, heartfelt experience of loss and finding one’s self pride from internal and external forces” and “original, thought-provoking, observational and insightful.”

“Brought me to tears faster than watching The Notebook. Bailey had such a unique way of bringing laughter and emotions to such an intense moment in time. I felt safe and comfortable with her on the stage, telling intimate personal stories interlaced with some of the smartest jokes I’ve ever seen—but also a burning desire to hug my parents after the show.”
